Why Sit Here and Die?

At the start of the year, I watched a reel on Instagram and I found it very intriguing.

A few weeks later, I studied that scripture and I was astonished.

After watching the video where he quoted the above scripture, I remembered another video Williams Uchembah shared last year where he met a deaf mother while randomly giving out money to strangers during the festive season. According to her, she had that ‘why sit here and die thought’ and decided to go out to look for what her child would eat before she met him. It was the last piece of paper and money on Williams Uchembah and viola, God looked upon her with favour and blessed her step of faith.

I’m sharing all of these because we live in a world full of despair and it is increasingly easy to give up these days. However, don’t sit down and die this year. If you need help or anything; please speak up, reach out, go out, do something. Just take action. A step of faith simply makes all the difference as God does not bless nothing.

Don’t bask in despair this year. Whether it’s in the cause of fighting for the future of Nigeria or in your everyday task and activity, remember that there is hope for a tree that has not been cut off. Go out and exercise your civic duty to vote, pray for the nation, take a step of faith and ask for that need, encourage yourself and apply for that job or scholarship. Let your mind be at peace that you have given that circumstance all that it takes. You will not always be rejected. There is always light at the end of every tunnel.

Remember the four lepers; God made them look so big when they got to the city gate to the extent that they felt bad they hadn’t informed the king’s household of the good news. God can make you so big when you move and take that step of faith.

Don’t just sit down and die; Stand up and live.
